Planning a Wedding? Don't Overlook Professional Photography!

Professional photography is something you should constantly have at the forefront of your mind when planning a wedding. Yes, the wedding dress is important; sure, the reception menu is a pressing issue; of course, the invitations must be top notch and detailed. But please, whatever you do, don't ever forget the photography. Make that professional photography - you simply can't overlook the importance of getting the job done right!

Professional Photography - Case In Point

There was a certain couple who had planned the perfect wedding. The groom's parents lived next to a lovely private beach and offered to help the couple have their wedding in a garden near the sea. The lovers were elated! They spent months preparing their invitations, having a gown made, arranging their travel time, preparing the reception, and making reservations for their honeymoon.

Oh and yeah, they decided to get a "friend of the family" to take care of their pictures.

The wedding went great and was indeed a lovely success. The beach side setting was a hit with all the guests. The seafood menu was exotic and deeply satisfying. The honeymoon was truly memorable. BUT. When the newlyweds got hold of their official pictures, they had a big shock. There were no single photographs of the bride. Not one! Caught up in the tension and euphoria of the wedding day, no one had noticed the bride needed to be photographed alone. Consequently, the wedding pictures feature plenty of other people in solo shots; the bride, however, is seen only in group photos. This broke the bride’s heart and remains a sore point in the couple's relationship to this day. If only they had hired an experienced photographer to handle the professional photography!

Professional Photography - Don't Skimp On Expenses

You may be tempted to save on expenses by having some local dude handle your professional photography. Don't give in to this thought! Do your best to set aside a good budget for your shots. Your wedding is supposed to be one of the most happy and memorable moments of your life - don't let those memories fall away with shoddy pictures that lack depth or vitality. Unless your local dude is a professional with years of experience under his belt and a portfolio to kill for, go find someone who can really deliver the goods.

Professional Photography - Check Out the Past Before Trusting the Future

Speaking of portfolios, it's imperative you look at a photographers work samples. If he can't provide any, forget it. If he has pictures to die for, ask for references. You really want to make sure he's the real deal.

Professional Photography isn't cheap but for wedding epicures, there shouldn't be a price tag. Avoid future pain and regret by hiring a fully competent master to handle the professional photography of your wedding. You will be forever grateful when the album comes back to you complete and resplendent with your glorious wedding day pictures.
